This Round of Finishing Some Things

Whew, it's been a busy couple months!

Content warning: NSFW I guess. 

Anyway,  I painted the Dominatrix up fully in prep for a game! I'm really excited to run her, as a tiny titan. She's about the size of an Imperial Knight. 

I used the same paint scheme as my other Behemoth Tyranids. I'm slowly working my way through my older models to color match them - my Malefactor really solidified that style. Eventually I'll even redo the Heirophant.

I also finished up the Bloodwake Corsair Skaven Gnawholes! They're all rocky and beachy. Now I can field a proper AoS army, sans the endless spells - which I probably won't ever make, they're just such an annoyance on the battlefield, for the wrong person - me. Anyway, here's those. 

Like I mentioned above, I'm working on older Primeval Behemoth models - here's a repainted Trygon! This one was easy since it really was the first sketch for that paint scheme, so it only needed a little work to match.

Finally, here's a random miniature I painted at NDK, the local anime convention. They were holding a "learn to paint lewd miniatures" and my partner and I thought that sounded fun. I ended up doing about half there, but it was midnight and cons are tiring, so I brought it home and finished it up. I think it turned out really good - I'm excited  to paint more flesh and practice humans more. I mostly paint rats and bugs.

Epic-Scale Tyranid Hierophant, But It's Big

Over Thanksgiving break, I was invited to play a "Tanksgiving" 40k event at my FLGS, where folks were encouraged to bring their massive war machines and the largest creatures to duke it out in an immense 5000 point game. Since I'm primarily interested in Tyranids, I only have a random, small selection of what could be considered "Tanks" - A Predator tank and a Thousand-sons conversion of a Dreadnought. I had a blast, but definitely wished I could have brought something larger to bear, and also in the flavor of Xenos. Since then, I've picked up a Winged Hive Tyrant, but I've always gazed at envy at the Forge World Tyranid Heirophant.  So of course I made one!

Building the Castle Stalgar

 I usually don't do terrain but this one just kept coming together well I felt compelled to keep going on it. It took probably three months or so, but that was intermittent in between smaller things. Still, this is probably one of the larger things I've made for a while, and it was really fun!

Rat Babies

A few weekends ago (vague because since I can't post things on time ever) I was invited by some very nice folks to play in a Spearhead tournament at my FLGS. Interestingly, I did not know how to play, but they were willing to provide an army and teach me the rules beforehand! I said yes, since it seemed like a nice afternoon. Moral of the story is that's how they get you - I had such a great time that I picked up a box of Spearhead Skaven so I could continue to play with folks.
